The day was a true success and the grassroots nature of the event was quite simply the best part. When the Speaker of the House has to lie to the public, or maybe even lie to her self you know we did something right. As for the left, they started by mocking and have now turned to hatred of the event. Underlying both is fear, for the first time in a long time the netroots and the leftists are contemplating that they can be knocked off the block. As for turnout we have differing estimates, all of them good. The chart on top mind you does not include all the crowds and according to the latest figures from PJM, they hit 550,000 yesterday.
A quick List of Turnout By location, not complete by any means.
From 538:
But, based on news accounts of 306 "Tea Party" protests in different cities across the country yesterday, I get a cumulative attendance of 262,025, with a fair number of (probably mostly smaller) events still unaccounted for.
These figures, wherever possible, are drawn from objective attempts to estimate crowd sizes, such as police accounts or estimates made by reporters. Organizers of these events have strong incentives to exaggerate crowd sizes. Participants in them may have some of the same incentives, and it is notoriously difficult for people to accurately estimate crowd sizes once attendance has reached more than a few dozen individuals
From National Review
At This Point... 316,782... (UPDATE: No, Make That 337,682.)
Beneath this post, you'll find a long list of cities that didn't make Nate Silver's attempt to count attendance at the Wednesday's Tea Parties, as well as a few cities where the count is widely disputed. At this point, using 200 to stand in for cities where news accounts only describe attendance as "hundreds" and 2,000 to stand in for cities where it's just described as "thousands", the count stands at 316,782.
From Pajamas TV:
The estimated number of participants in yesterday’s tea parties — sent in by citizen journalists who signed up to the site to enter attendance data from the event they participated in — currently stands at more than 481,000. More than 850 ordinary Americans signed up to report on their community’s protest. The number of participants will continue to rise as more of our field observers upload their photos and videos of the events and send us their attendance figures.
(Check here for the latest in crowd estimates based on eyewitness accounts, as well as police estimates. Crowd counting is not an exact science, but we feel confident in saying that PJTV has the most authoritative estimates of crowd size you’ll find anywhere.)

The Speaker is a liar or delusional.
