Yesterday's Tea rallies were an optimistic and intelligent attempt for Americans who have been bypassed by political elites to get involved. In this way they are similar to the crowds that showed up at Palin rallies. The Governor was clearly approachable as a person and made her name battling the political machines and crony capitalists that had dominated so much of Alaska. Who here in those country can't appreciate that? As for the make up of the crowds it was the type of people who love America, work hard, and understand that, yes we do live in the greatest nation in history.
There is something disgusting about much of the elite coverage of these events. Labeled as racist, angry, ignorant, you name it every left wing talking point that could be said about Palin and her supporters was thrown at us yesterday. We knew they were going to, but we went anyway, and in that regards we all deserve a pat on the back.
In regards to policy its clear that the crowds who showed up yesterday have seen through the Presidents and the media's lies. The goal of Cap and Trade is to increase energy prices so that the middle and working class will suffer while the liberal elites jet around the globe. Increasing the cost of energy as a deliberate government policy is madness, a madness the elites think we are too stupid to see through. Nationalizing health care will clearly increase the burden for those of us at tea party rallies as well, we have the sense to see that waiting lists and rationing will be foisted on average people while the influence peddler, the elected politician, and the elite move to the head of the line. The goal of government control, is just that control. Its amazing that the left and their elite allies who acted terrified of their own government under Bush have with reckless abandon accepted politician control of so much of our lives as the future of this nation. A skepticism of government and belief in individual Americans, attracted many of us to Palin in the first place. Common sense, more oil means lower energy prices, less government control means less corruption, these are no brainers to us, but truths to be hidden by the Democrats and their allies.
Just as Palin was mocked and smeared, many of us were yesterday, its what they do. But in their hatred is an arrogance and weakness that can be exploited. Many of them believe their own hate speech and within their ignorance we can push past the establishment and bring reform to government.
