Iranian Regime: Court Will Teach a Lesson to Demonstrators

There had been reports that a kangaroo court had been set up to try demonstrators , now you have this thuggishness:

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's judiciary will teach those arrested during protests over the disputed presidential election a lesson, an official said, after riot police broke up the latest demonstration in Tehran.

(EDITORS' NOTE: Reuters and other foreign media are subject to Iranian restrictions on their ability to report, film or take pictures in Tehran.)

Hundreds of people have been detained during protests sparked by official results of Iran's June 12 election showing hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won by a landslide.

Considering the massacres and brutality I think the lesson has been given. I would hope that our president would learn a lesson and stop this idiocy. In other news it appears the regime is confident enough to go foward with its sham election results.

TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- Iran's Guardian Council has ruled out the possibility of nullifying the results of the country's disputed presidential election, saying irregularities were reported before the balloting -- not during or after.
