Great Work O

I think Iran detonating an atomic device might be the icing on the cake for USA on this cold Friday. Between the colossal blunder of putting his name out there over the Olympics and the depressing job numbers which came in worse then expected, you have to wonder what the hell are they thinking in the white house? How saved jobs won't be greeted with derision or the vision of Obama as some type of trans-national figure rather then an easy to offend leader I don't know.

The American economy shed another 263,000 jobs in September and the unemployment rate rose to 9.8 percent, reinforcing a broad assumption that many more months of lean times lie ahead for working people.

The latest snapshot of the nation’s job market released by the Labor Department on Friday amplified the notion that the recession has probably ended, as a technical matter. Though the job market continued to worsen, the pace of deterioration remained markedly slower than earlier in the year, when roughly 700,000 jobs a month were disappearing.

Yet the report added to the sentiment that the economic expansion, which is probably under way, will be weak and tentative, with scarce paychecks and anxiety remaining prominent features of American life well into next year.

How can they in good conscience talk about expansion? Anyway here is the other treat of the day:

COPENHAGEN — The Olympics were awarded to a South American city for the first time when the International Olympic Committee on Friday voted for Rio de Janeiro to host the 2016 Games.

Rio de Janeiro beat Madrid in the final round of voting, 66-32. The committee delivered an unexpectedly early knockout blow to Chicago, which was eliminated in the first round. Tokyo was gone in the second.

Jacques Rogge, the president of the committee, made the announcement, sending crowds in Rio de Janeiro into celebration.

Ready Day One.
